Los Angeles based producer Wes James, A.K.A. Le Youth might have just found his new biggest fan. I just stumbled upon his remix of Moon Boots’ “Off My Mind” and was blown away. This one is 100% grade A funk, with some top notch production to boot. Check out the remix and two of his original tracks below, and head over his Facebook page to like him.

There are some songs that are good for listening to at home but not at a club, and vice versa. Seya’s new Float EP does not fall into that category, these two songs are lighthearted and musically awesome sounding enough that I have been relaxing to them at home, but at the same time they make me want to hop out of my chair and dance. Seya samples classic disco sounds like a genius to craft some some beautiful music that appeals to my primal instinct to dance. I can’t imagine not moving at least one part of my body while listening to these tunes. Preview them below and support Seya here on Beatport and Facebook.

PeaceTreaty, one of the best Big Room House producer groups and DJs in EDM today, just had their remix of Diplo & Oliver Twizt’s “Go” on Diplo’s Mad Decent label. These guys have been absolutely destroying every remix and original track they put out for a while now; I can’t think of one production they’ve done I haven’t been a fan of. They are producing some of the most innovative music I’ve heard in a while, pushing the limits of the genre with devastating synths and monumental drops. Lucky for us, Mad Decent is giving away this remix for free on their Soundcloud. Check it out and download below!

Party Supplies, the stage name of Brooklyn artist Justin Nealis, is using his drum machine and live mixing to take the States by storm. Recently signed to A-Trak’s label Fool Gold Records, Party Supplies remixes combine hip hop beats with sweet indie hooks. No one else can catch the essence of complex beats, and combine with catchy melodies with such ease. Party Supplies broke into the scene last year, with his remix of the festival anthem “We Used to Wait” by the Arcade Fire. Make sure to check out one of his live mixing videos, just to understand how these tracks are the only supplies you need for your next party.

Hello Hive -

It’s been a while since I have been able to post, but as all of our readers know, Derek is doing an INSANE job keeping the Hive in the check. To make up for some lost time, I am bringing you my Favourite Disco tracks from the last couple weeks.. As the cold air falls on sunny (or cloudy now) Los Angeles, I want to bring you some tunes for a great lazy day at home..

Enjoy!

There are many remix’s of this song, but none sounding like this one…

It’s my favorite time of year again, the time when the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles gets transformed for two days into Hard Haunted Mansion. This was the first massive EDM event I ever attended and I still look back on 2009′s HHM as one of the best nights of my life, let alone concerts. Harvard Bass, A-Trak, The Bloody Beetroots, 2ManyDJ’s and Deadmau5 kept me dancing til the wee hours of the morning and put me into an electronic music craze that is still surging hard as ever.

This year’s lineup is stellar on both nights, and HARD has done a great job of balancing headliners and upcoming DJs. I have some serious tunes for you today you can expect to hear this weekend at HHM in order to get you pumped. Hope to see some of you there this Saturday, if not then just enjoy the tunes!
